A Professor from PenzGTU Advanced to the Semi-final of the “League of Lecturers” Contest

2553 unique competition entries from over 359 cities and more than 80 regions of Russia have been registered at the contest of the Russian Association “Znanie”(Moscow), which is aimed at finding, selecting and identifying talented lecturers, professionals from different fields of knowledge who are ready to share them with the audience. Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Nizhny Novgorod and Rostov-on-Don became the most active contestants.

Sergey N. Volkov, the PenzGTU representative, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor of the “Translation and Translation Studies” Department successfully passed the first and the second stage. “One of the most important contest demands was the ability to prepare a video lecture, present it competently and attractively to the audience, - said Sergei Nikolaevich. – My teaching experience, scientific knowledge and technical support from PenzGTU Media Centre allowed me to enter the number of 434 semi-finalists at the second stage, who will continue to compete in such nominations as natural sciences, career, business, ecology, social and humanitarian sphere, etc."

There are two more stages ahead, where the professor of the “Translation and Translation Studies” Department will need to demonstrate live performances and show that he, as a good lecturer, is able to work competently with the audience - to keep attention, be on the same wavelength with the members of the audience and interact with them.

"At this stage, lecturers will perform "in the field", – Sergey Nikolaevich continues to share information about the competition– - my work will be evaluated not by experts, but by audience. This is no less responsible and important for me."

PenzGTU staff sincerely supports S.N.Volkov in the contest and wishes him to perform successfully not only in semi-final but also obtain an honourable title as a lecturer of the Russian Association “Znanie”.
