Visit the homeland of the great Russian poet, enjoy the beauty of the Volga Region nature, look into the past and attend a real peasant wedding – these opportunities gives the students their participation in the project “Intercultural Dialogue”, which is being realized with the grant support of the Rosmolodezh Federal Agency.
“A number of “Intercultural Dialogue” events for Russian and International students are aimed at setting up good communication between the representatives of different countries, creating friendly atmosphere and thus providing successful interaction between the students of our University in cultural and professional fields, - says Ksenia Lyagina, the project curator. – And, of course, interactivity is the best way that contributes to this!”
Thus, on October 7, 42 foreign students from different training programmes went to the museum preserve “Tarkhany”, where M.Y. Lermontov, our great countryman and poet, spent his childhood. The students from Tajikistan, Kirgizia, Bangladesh, Algeria got acquainted with the poet’s works as well as the traditions of a peasant wedding of the 19th century. Excursions around the museum complex were organized for the tourists; in addition, the students took a walk in the estate park, learned a lot about the life of the Russian nobility and peasantry of the XIX century.
