September 24, the students of the Faculty of Biomedical Technologies visited the Penza region Museum of Search Teams.
The students got acquainted with the exhibits and learned not only about the activities of search teams, but also about the events of the Great Patriotic War, the plans of the Nazi army, the heroic acts of soldiers, including those called to the front from the Penza region. The guide paid special attention to the 61st Infantry Division, which almost completely died in July-August 1941 in the Rogachevsky district of the Gomel region of the Republic of Belarus. A large-scale battle of the division is displayed in a diorama.
The guide told the students about the specifics of the search work, about the sites of excavations by Penza search teams in the Novgorod, Oryol regions, the Republic of Karelia, the Republic of Belarus, where fellow countrymen fought. The exhibits that allowed identifying the soldiers and commanders of the Workers’and Peasants’ Red Army aroused the students’ special interest. The students also visited the blindage, recreated by search teams in the museum. Some students from Kirgizia and Tadjikistan were so impressed by the excursion that they decided to join the search movement.
“The development of the civil and patriotic area is one of the priorities at the University, - says O.A.Kulikova, the Chairman of the united Trade Union of PenzGTU of the All–Russian Trade Union of Education. – Such events do not allow falsifying historical data and remain in the memory of the students for a long time”.
